3' Diameter acrylic paint with super heavy gell on wood panel.
Description: This artwork is an abstraction of the parables described in Matthew 13:24-30, 36-52. The white circular background represents both the pearl that Jesus sold everything for as well as the world. Within it, the green represents the wheat and the weeds that Jesus separates. A netted fabric was placed, painted over, then removed to reveal the righteous left after the separating. The netted fabric also depicted the separating of the fish caught in the net. The various vivid colors that emerge from the field represent each one of us that Jesus, the merchant, gave up everything to purchase. That purchase cost Him everything, His life, which is depicted in the red and pink areas in the background that symbolize the blood that He shed. Truly, Jesus gives everything to buy the treasure, and that treasure is you!
